Our Aircraft The Sundowners Flying Club owns a fleet of three airplanes shown below. Any club member of active status holding a currently effective FAA Student, Private, Commercial, or Air Transport Pilot certificate with single engine land rating may operate the club’s single engine, fixed gear aircraft (our C172) after completing an orientation and checkout flight with a club approved instructor. In order to fly our high-performance Cessna C182's pilots will also need to have logged at least 100 hours PIC time and must be checked out by one of our club instructors. Our Piper PA32 requires an advanced checkout for that aircraft. Our aircraft are meticulously maintained. We primarily use Carter Aircraft in Sebring, Florida for scheduled maintenance and Switlik Aviation @KFMY for overflow/unscheduled maintenance. All aircraft undergo a 50 hr inspection including oil & filter and a 100 hour inspection that is technically an Annual. Avionics maintenance are split between Tomlinson @KFMY and Sarasota Avionics @KPGD. |
